The Martha's Vineyard Museum, previously the Martha's Vineyard Historical Society, houses extensive holdings of three-dimensional objects, archival documents, historic books and photographs, paintings, and other exhibits. The Museum curates a rotating collection of historical artifacts from around Martha's Vineyard.
Permanent Exhibits include:
- The Spotlight Gallery, a continuing exhibition series featuring historical objects which are frequently changed out, giving visitors the opportunity to see something new on every visit to the Museum.
- The Hands-On History space, an interactive learning space aimed at engaging children and families in activities and learning experiences.
- The Enchanted Isle: The Story of Martha's Vineyard, which tells the story of Martha's Vineyard through oral histories and rarely seen objects.
Visit the Martha's Vineyard Museum website to learn more about seasonal exhibits and other events at the Museum.
The Museum also rents out both lawns on the Edgartown and Vineyard Haven Marine Hospital campus for weddings, special events, and other private parties. You can contact the Museum for more information on renting part of the historical property for your next gathering.
